After receiving hundreds of expressions of interest for a sprint event following funding cuts to the Adelaide Motorsport Festival, The Bend has given the green light to The Bend Classic, today officially opening registrations.
The event is due to be held from 7-8 December 2019, and provides an opportunity for owners of historic, and performance vehicles to test their vehicles and themselves on a world-class motor racing circuit.
Drivers from a range of 8 motorsport categories will have the chance to experience four different circuit configurations throughout the weekend, including the challenging 22 turn 3.93km East Circuit (a key part of the monster 7.77km GT layout), for the first time in racing conditions.
Attendees of the OTR SuperSprint (23-25 August) will have the first glimpse of the East Circuit pit building, one of the latest additions to the motor racing circuit.
Spectator entry will be free, and with the new permanent pit straight grandstand in place, eager fans will be able to secure a seat in pole position to enjoy the sights and sounds of an eclectic mix of cars that typically don't compete on a regular basis.
