The Shell V-Power Motorsport Park can confirm that it will host its first Supercars Endurance round in 2025.
Awarded International Motorsport Facility of the Year in 2019, hosting an endurance round has long been a burning ambition for its owners.
Sam Shahin, Managing Director - Shell V-Power Motorsport Park:
“Hosting a Supercars Endurance round has long been considered the holy grail for our venue and we are thrilled we have finally been able to secure this prestigious event for 2025.”
The Bend will host the 2025 Enduro round after a year of absence from Supercars in 2024.
“I am naturally disappointed that a Supercars event will not be held at the best motorsport facility in Australia in 2024, however we are thrilled to have secured the coveted endurance round for The Bend in 2025.”
The 2024 major events calendar at The Bend continues to grow with the jam-packed schedule featuring three rounds of the National Drag Racing Championship, headlined by Top Fuel, the Australian Superbike Grand Finale spectacle, the internationally renowned Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia event, and Nitro Funny Cars to name a few.
The full calendar will be released on December 1 with more large scale announcements to come regarding major events at The Bend in 2024.
Alistair MacDonald, CEO - Shell V-Power Motorsport Park:
“We are eagerly awaiting the opportunity to share further plans for major events at The Bend in 2024. We have some exciting developments to announce over the coming weeks.”
The Bend has reached an understanding with Supercars to confirm the grand 2025 plans.
Shane Howard, CEO - Supercars:
“Following discussions with management at The Bend, both parties have agreed that the best outcome is to focus on 2025, where the South Australian venue will host an endurance event for the first time.
“The circuit has produced incredible moments on track since 2018 and is well-suited for Supercars endurance racing. We’re all excited to see what happens on track when endurance racing debuts at The Bend in 2025.”
The Bend Supercars events are proudly supported by the Government of South Australia through the South Australian Tourism Commission.
The Hon Peter Malinauskas, Premier of South Australia:
“We’re disappointed that The Bend is not featuring on the 2024 Supercars calendar but the enduro round for 2025 is a great outcome for The Bend and for Regional SA.”
“The Shell V-Power Motorsport Park is becoming a major tourism destination for South Australia evidenced by the Spring Nationals hosting over 35,000 people across two days in October. We will work with the venue on further major events for 2024 and are looking forward to making some announcements in the coming weeks.”
