Iconic Australian band The Choirboys will play alongside award-winning alt-rock artists Kingswood in a concert immediately after the drop of the chequered flag on the Saturday of this year’s OTR Supersprint.
Today’s announcement of the ‘Rocking the Murray’ concert coincides with The Bend confirming that for the first time in event history, free buses will operate between the regional hub of Murray Bridge and The Bend to further improve the event experience for fans staying in the region.
Additionally, $10 return buses will operate from Adelaide to The Bend for all 3 days of the event.
The bands prove a huge addition to the event with Kingswood coming off the back of their album ‘home’ debuting at #1 on the ARIA Australian country charts in February and despite being released in 1988 the Choirboy’s hit song ‘Run to Paradise’ still boasts 62 million listens on streaming platform Spotify.
Round 9 of the Repco Supercars Championship will take place at The Bend on August 18-20 providing the first opportunity for South Australian fans to witness the new GEN3 Supercars live in race trim.
Alistair MacDonald, CEO The Bend Motorsport Park:
“The new entertainment offering and expanded bus service to support the increase in traffic in the region is all a part of our goal to put on an event that the area is proud of and that’s easy and enjoyable for all who attend.”
“We’re excited to provide race fans and eventgoers with a complete event experience for the whole family and expand the offering for the 3500 people we have staying on site during the event.”
Todd Hazelwood, Driver - CoolDrive Racing #3 Ford Mustang
“Having just finished up in Darwin, there’s only 2 more stops on the calendar until we’re back in South Australia at The Bend to put on a show for all the local fans in my hometown.”
“It’s going to be incredibly interesting for everyone involved to see how the new spec GEN3 Supercar rolls out at The Bend.”
Alex Laska, Kingswood Band
“We are really excited to be a part of the OTR SuperSprint given we are all massive motorsport fans and everyone in the band is in possession of something that goes fast.”
“After our 120 date Hometown tour around Australia, we are very much looking forward to putting on a show for all the fans at The Bend.”
