The Audi R8 LMS Cup made its Australian debut at the Adelaide 500 over the weekend and The Bend’s Yasser Shahin took home second overall after a thrilling performance on track.
Shahin qualified 4th and drove impressively to secure 3rd for Race 1 where he also set the fastest lap.
Shahin pulled together a pole position start for Race 2 after an incredible save on the Adelaide circuit’s infamous Turn 8. The car completed two full rotations, narrowly missing the wall that claimed the cars of many competitors over the weekend.
After consistent driving and a 2nd place finish for Race 2, Shahin finished the weekend in 2nd place behind Andrew Haryanto.
