The Bend Announces Michelin Partnership
The Bend Motorsport Park has commenced a multi-year partnership with Michelin Australia to be the official high-performance and motorsport tyre of the Bend Motorsport Park and presenting partner of the The Bend Driver Experience.
The Bend Driver Experience presented by Michelin centres around the supply of ultra-high performance and motorsport tyres for The Bend’s fleet of track vehicles, where members of the public can experience first-hand the thrill of motorsport, driving fully prepared race, rally and off-road vehicles on market-leading world-class Michelin tyres, with the guidance of expert instructors.
On the announcement of the partnership, Dr Sam Shahin, Managing Director of The Bend said, “We are very pleased to announce Michelin, a prestigious and globally recognised tyre and motorsport brand, to be the presenting partner of our Driver Experience.”
“We see this as a significant step forward in strengthening our suite of motorsport experiences and we believe this further recognises and solidifies The Bend Motorsport Park as a world class venue through acknowledgement from Michelin, a world class brand.” Dr Shahin said.
“We feel very privileged to have Michelin as the official high-performance and motorsport tyre partner of The Bend. We are very impressed with the level of support they will be able to provide to our members and customers on and off track, and their intention to highlight The Bend in their marketing activities.”
Swaroop Tulsidas, Marketing Manager Oceania, Michelin Australia added, “Dr Sam Shahin and The Bend team have created an award-winning circuit with facilities like no other in Australia.”
“We are delighted to strengthen our relationship with The Bend as their presenting partner for their Driver Experience. Michelin believe this program will provide an exhilarating range of drive experiences for all automotive enthusiasts; a real bucket-list item!”
“No matter what conditions, on track or off road, drivers will be able to feel the confidence that the Michelin and BFGoodrich tyres provide through their incredible grip and performance.”
The partnership was originally agreed upon in early 2020, however with the COVID-19 pandemic quickly escalating, both parties shared mutual concerns regarding public health and safety and agreed upon delaying roll out of the program. In light of new COVID-19 advice and direction from government health officials, together with restrictions now easing and state borders set to reopen, both Michelin and The Bend agree it is now the correct time to announce the partnership and encourage participation.
The Bend Motorsport Park and Michelin agree that the first priority; whether visiting or participating at The Bend, is the safety and wellbeing of all visitors to the venue. We can assure guests that as restrictions continue to ease we are following all guidelines from Government and Health Officials and will work within these guidelines to provide a safe and enjoyable experience.”
